G-mode was established in July 2000 as the world's first mobile network game contents provider specializing in Java game software. Its establishment was a direct response to consumer demand for diverse new types of mobile contents that can convert moments of monotony into hours of fun.

On January 26, 2001, taking advantage of the introduction of Java-compatible mobile phones in Japan and the evolution of mobile communications culture, G-mode launched their first two game sites for NTT DoCoMo mobile phone customers in conjunction with the release of the first Java-compatible mobile phone.

The Company has grown exponentially since. The number of customers accessing G-mode services through DoCoMo's i-appli service has swelled, as new games were added one after another and services were expanded to include Internet competition games and other offerings.

Mobile network gaming is as yet unknown to many members of the mobile communications society. To gain their recognition and acceptance of this brand-new entertainment medium, G-mode has joined forces with some of the world's leading contents providers in constructing allied network architecture.

According to G-mode, the company plans to begin providing users in other countries with game contents in the near future - thus enabling mobile communicators around the globe to share the fun and excitement of this new addition to the mobile communications society.
