Sunday, February 19, 2006 Shaped Kakuro Variant

Conceptis released Shaped Kakuro variants, a new family of Kakuro puzzles with unique shapes and grid layouts. Described as innovative and revolutionary, these new exciting variants are more fun to solve, offer a wider range of logic, and are visually pleasing and satisfying to look at.

Conceptis’ puzzle fans can now enhance their Kakuro fun, while Conceptis’ publishers can differentiate their magazines and become the leading Kakuro publishers in their country.

Conceptis’ Shaped Kakuro variants join the original square and rectangular Classic Kakuro puzzles and will soon be available at Conceptis publishers download center and the Free Weekly Puzzles page at conceptispuzzles.com.

Variants

The new Shaped Kakuro variants now available from Conceptis are:

Holey Kakuro , same as Classic Kakuro puzzles but with holes in the middle. Available in grid sizes from 14x14 and up and with difficulty levels of Easy, Medium, Medium Plus, Hard and Very Hard.

Round Kakuro , rounded on the outside, sometimes with holes in the inside. Available in grid sizes from 10x10 and up and with difficulty levels of Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Medium Plus, Hard and Very Hard.

Multi Kakuro , look like multiple Kakuro puzzles placed on top of each other. Available in grid sizes from 12x12 and up and with difficulty levels of Easy, Medium, Medium Plus, Hard and Very Hard.

Diamond Kakuro , with diagonal cuttings in various places. Available in grid sizes from 14x14 and up and with difficulty levels of Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Medium Plus, Hard and Very Hard.

"A significant advantage over the competition"

“By shaping the grids, these puzzles become substantially more attractive, offer a wider range of interesting logic situations, and are easier to solve compared to rectangular grids of the same size” says Dave Green, president of Conceptis. “We are confident that our partners will have more successful publications with a significant advantage over the competition.”

Since their introduction in January 2006, over 20 magazines and books with Conceptis Classic Kakuro puzzles have already been published or are in final production stages in ten North American and European countries. In addition, Conceptis signed worldwide agreements with King Features for international newspaper syndication of Kakuro puzzles, and with Lemada Light Industries Ltd. / Kod Kod for providing content to their new Kod Kakuro board game.
