Tsuper Tsunami – new large format magazine on sale in UK from August 9thThursday, August 1, 2002
Tsuper Tsunami – new large format magazine Following the huge success of TSUNAMI magazine, WH Smith retail outlets and BEAP publishing announced the publication of a new quarterly, large-format magazine dedicated to Conceptis' puzzles – TSUPER TSUNAMI. This 48-page WH Smith own-brand will contain more than 40 puzzles with grid sizes larger than those found in the currently published Tsunami magazine. This new large format enables BEAP to provide its UK fans with much larger puzzles than at present. In addition to a solid body of B&W Japanese Puzzles, TSUPER TSUNAMI will include five two-color puzzles and a few Link-a-Pix puzzles as well and an opportunity for its buyers to send their own Japanese Puzzle to the publisher and win £20 in WH Smiths vouchers. The name TSUNAMI, which was created by BEAP, has become very popular for these puzzles both in the UK and abroad. Therefore, to differentiate the new, larger size, format from the smaller sized traditional TSUNAMI, BEAP has decided to name this magazine TSUPER TSUNAMI. According to Trevor Truran, editor of TSUPER TSUNAMI, the decision on this new format has been made due to the "many requests by Tsunami readers for more puzzles, as one issue doesn't satisfy their craving, and for larger, more challenging puzzles". According to Dave Green, Conceptis' founder and president, "the fact TSUNAMI has been recognized as such a successful type of puzzle in the UK will now serve as a good reference for other countries which don't have any monthly magazine yet such as; Germany, U.S.A., Italy, Spain and Denmark or which only have a small format magazine; such as France, Finland and Hungary". TSUPER TSUNAMI will be on sale in the UK from August 9th, exclusively through WH Smith retail outlets and by subscriptions from BEAP. Conceptis' International fans who are interested in a subscription to TSUPER TSUNAMI are welcome to email directly to BEAP or to use the appropriate form in BEAP website: http://www.puzzler.co.uk/pages/subscriptions/subscriptions.html Related resources |
