Conceptis puzzle boom reaches JapanSunday, July 1, 2001
Byakuya Shobo and Cosmic International, two Tokyo-based publishers are now publishing Conceptis Puzzles in their magazines. Byakuya Shobo’s logic puzzle magazine titled Oekaki Puzzle Land is published every two months at 100,000 copies. Targeted mainly for women in their 20’s and 30’s, each issue contains 100 logic puzzles of different sizes and colors and is sold for 880 Yen (about $8). Cosmic International's Illustration Logic puzzles magazine is called Big Logic Plaza and is published bi-monthly at over 80,000 copies. Each magazine contains over 70 B&W and color puzzles and is targeted for all readers; from beginners to the most advanced puzzle fans in Japan. Especially popular puzzles are the Jumbo Logic 14,000, which are gigantic 200x70 squares in size and offer the ultimate challenge of this puzzle genre. Related resources |
