ROID launches mobile games with Conceptis puzzles in Japan

3 new mobile phone games containing Pic-a-Pix, Link-a-Pix and Sudoku puzzles by Conceptis were released on Japanese mobile games portal ROID within a new service titled Puzzle Daisuki (Japanese for "Puzzle fan"). ROID, standing for Revolutionary Original Ideas Discovery, is a virtual gaming platform offering a variety of paid mobile games and services to NTT DoCoMo phone subscribers.

The platform is a collaborated venture between Level 5, an independent video game developer and publisher, Famitsu, a video game magazine publisher and NTT DoCoMo, the predominant mobile phone operator in Japan. Conceptis' puzzles games offered on the portal were developed for ROID by WillArk.

A wide range of mobile game genres

To play the games ROID members buy ROID points available in various price plans from 300 roid for 315 jpy (= $3.4) and up to 1500 roid for 1575 jpy. The games are packaged according to puzzle types and include ultra easy to very hard Sudoku (Numple Daisuki), 5x5 to 20x20 B&W Pic-a-Pix (Oekaki Daisuki) and 5x5 to 20x20 Color Link-a-Pix (Kazulink Daisuki). The price for each Conceptis puzzle package containing 40 puzzles (30+10 bonus) is set to 100 roid points. New puzzle packages are uploaded irregularly.

ROID releases a new game to the site every first and 15th day of every month. Other than puzzle games, ROID also offers a wide range of mobile game genres including RPG, online, casual / mini and more. The site includes a virtual store called ROID Town where users can buy new games, a personal area named My Room where users can manage their purchased games, and a Theatre where users watch videos about their favorite games.
