Head-to-Head Maze Races: a 2-player puzzle competition game in a bookMonday, October 27, 2008
A book featuring innovative puzzles allowing two players to compete against each other to see who first gets to the center of a maze was released by Sterling Publishing. Titled Head-to-Head Maze Races, the 128-page book contains 100 black-and-white Maze-a-Pix puzzles specially adapted for two players. As with all Maze-a-Pix puzzles, a beautiful picture or geometric pattern is revealed when the puzzle is solved. The Maze Races concept was invented by Sterling Publishing and developed in cooperation with Conceptis to provide a unique combination of puzzling and gaming in book format. Compete against each otherEach Maze Race puzzle is a two-player pencil-and-paper game constructed of two identical pictures that are mirror images of each other. The two participants are invited to compete against each other to see who finds their way first to the center of the maze. Although the true paths are identical, the false paths are completely different making it impractical and risky for one player to copy from the other. Head-to-Head Maze Races (ISBN-13: 9781402758829) was released in November 2008 and is available in major online shops for international orders. Other innovative Maze-a-Pix publications by Sterling Publishing include The 25-Foot-Long Picture Maze - the world's longest picture maze, printed on 100 pages that fold out into a single 25-foot-long sheet.
