Kinder Sudoku: Carla the Chameleon and Ferdinand the Fly

Using smaller and easier puzzles is one way, but Rätsel Agentur Schweiz, Conceptis' exclusive publisher in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, has come up with Kinder Sudoku - an innovative Sudoku magazine concept targeted especially for kids.

"The concept is based on Carla the Chameleon and Ferdinand the Fly" explains Stefan Haller, editor and graphic designer of Rätsel Agentur, "both of which appear on each page of the magazine. Carla always has an eye on Ferdinand and is so eager to catch him that her skin transforms into the solution of the part of the puzzle Ferdinand is sitting on. But don't worry - Carla's skin is camouflaged and the solution doesn't show unless you really look at it carefully. This way the kids can get hints in a friendly and entertaining way.”

Invited to adopt Carla and Ferdinand

Available in stores throughout Switzerland, Germany and Austria, Kinder Sudoku is a monthly 48 page 16x22 cm magazine containing Classic Sudoku 9x9, Mini Sudoku 6x6 and Mini Sudoku 4x4 puzzles by Conceptis in ultra easy, very easy, easy and medium difficulty levels. Additional puzzle types include Diagonal Sudoku 9x9, Irregular Sudoku 6x6 and Irregular Sudoku 9x9.

Launched in January 2007, Kinder Sudoku’s sales are already progressing very well. “Conceptis publishers are invited to adopt Carla and Ferdinand in their own Sudoku publications targeted at young children” says Thomas Küng, president of Rätsel Agentur. For more details, please contact Dave Green.
