MSN launched Silverlight-based Sudoku in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia

Microsoft Network SEA, including MSN Singapore, MSN Malaysia, MSN Philippines and MSN Indonesia portals, has launched a new interactive Sudoku game running on Microsoft’s Silverlight multimedia platform. The new game, accessible directly from each portal’s main navigation bar, is powered by River Walk Multimedia and offers one new Sudoku puzzle every day sourced exclusively from Conceptis Japan.

With a total of 90 million page views by 6.4 million unique visitors across this region each month, Microsoft Network South East Asia (SEA) takes logic puzzles one step closer to a casual gaming experience and a mainstream entertainment. Amongst the features offered by the new MSN Sudoku game are:

• Tracer: stores history of each action during play including inserting, replacing and deleting answers. The Tracer also allows players to trace back their previous step or answer if any mistakes are made during the game.
• Assistant: identifies and highlights possible numbers, rows, columns and blocks of a selected cell in each Sudoku grid.
• Increasing difficulty levels: ranging from easiest on Sunday to hardest on Saturday.
• Daily community statistics: shown upon completion of each daily puzzle.

Grab more user minutes and engagement with games

"As more people move their leisure time onto online we see a huge opportunity to grab more user minutes and engagement with games and specifically, puzzle offerings in partnership with River Walk" Rick Mulia, Executive Producer, MSN Southeast Asia stated in an official press release published by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), Malaysia. "With an initial rollout of Sudoku integrated into MSN for Southeast Asia we believe this will be an attractive and engaging offering to our local audience."
