Conceptis announces PAP online 2.0: the world's best PAP logic puzzles appletMonday, December 1, 2003
In line with its strategy to provide top quality online Picture-forming logic puzzles, Conceptis is proud to release PAP (Pic-a-Pix) Online 2.0 - the world's best applet for playing these exciting brain-breaking puzzles. This innovative gaming software is packed with new features and supports really big puzzles of 100x80 and even larger (depending on screen size and resolution). To enable solving puzzles of such large sizes, PAP Online 2.0 includes a new, compact method of displaying the puzzle clues - Partial View Mode. In this mode, the clues of a single row and a single column are visible at each point in time, according to the location of the rulers. This way, the game may be zoomed out to a very small grid without affecting the readability of the clues. According to Dave Green, president of Conceptis Puzzles the Partial View Mode concept was originally developed in Japan for playing Oekaki-Logic puzzles on mobile phones. Since mobile phones have small screens, it was necessary to develop new methods to display the puzzle clues. Based on the LAP Online design, PAP Online’s game interface consists of many helpful features to provide maximum puzzling experience and fun. The first release of the game comes with Partial/Full View Mode, Zoom In/Out, Mark Square, Clear Square, Game Restart, Sound On/Off, Game Pause and Help functionalities. Horizontal and vertical block-length counters have also been added to indicate the length of the filled in blocks, which the mouse is pointing at. The next release, as one can tell by looking at the toolbar of the new game, will expand the puzzling experience even further with new features such as Save, Restore, Undo, Redo, Check Puzzle, and Hint. The new PAP Online game took the company almost one year to develop during which many playing concepts and game versions were tried and tested. In addition, Conceptis has included with this new game a new user interface graphic suit, with the assistance of Zemah Ben-Moshe - the person responsible for designing both PAP and LAP Online Tutorials. All beta-tester responses received so far were extremely positive. Conceptis is confident that PAP Online 2.0 will become the leading online logic game amongst logic puzzle enthusiasts.
