Mozaiek Puzzles pilot issue published in Netherlands
Monday, December 6, 2004
The pilot issue of Mozaiek Puzzels – a new magazine dedicated to Conceptis FAP (Fill-a-Pix) puzzles – was launched in the Netherlands by Sanoma Uitgevers.
Priced at €3.50, the first issue of Mozaiek Puzzels is available in all magazine-stores in the Netherlands since end of November 2004. Locally branded as Mozaiek Puzzels, the Dutch word for building a bigger picture from smaller parts, the magazine contains 36 FAP Basic Logic and 6 FAP Advanced Logic puzzles with sizes ranging from 15x15 to 30x30. The 48-page 19x19 cm magazine also contains a 60x30 centerfold for extra challenge and fun.
Earlier this year, Sanoma Uitgevers decided to conduct a multi-channel survey to explore the possibilities for a new FAP magazine in the Dutch market. Within this survey, readers were encouraged to visit Sanoma's website, where they could try one FAP puzzle each week during a 10 week period and win prizes for correct solutions. In addition, a sample puzzle together with a questionnaire were inserted into other magazines published by Sanoma, to get more feedback from the Dutch puzzle fans.
"Following the positive responses to this survey" says Rob Geensen, Sanoma Uitgevers Editor in Chief, "the company decided to publish a Mozaiek Puzzels pilot issue to further test the market and see the sales results".
