G-Mode launched Conceptis FAP logic puzzles for mobile phones in SpainTuesday, June 1, 2004
FAP for mobile phones in Spain G-mode announced the release of Conceptis FAP (Fill-a-Pix) logic puzzles for Telefonica mobile phone subscribers in Spain. The new service, resulting from the cooperation of G-mode, Telefonica, and Ediciones Pleyades – Conceptis’ publisher in Spain – has been available since April 21, 2004. Branded locally as Cuenta y Sombrea (Count and Darken), each content package contains ten 15x15 FAP puzzles which are available to Telefonica’s customers using Java enabled mobile phones. G-mode provides 15 other game titles including G-mode Motocross, G-mode Nine Ball, Batalla Espacial, Jumping Ninja, and G-mode Poker – a network game. Using a pay-per-download payment model, each content except G-mode Poker, is charged with 3 Euros. Spain as the first European market for FAPAccording to Hidetoshi Oi, Head of Corporate Planning department in G-mode’s headquarters in Tokyo, the content update frequency has not yet been determined but it would probably be once every two or three months. “Our mission is to provide ‘entertainment on the move’ across the world” says Oi “and therefore our goal is global reach. About two years ago we observed that Europe was the first major region where mobile data services would commence after Japan. Naturally we decided to provide our content in Europe”. Also according to Oi, the reason for choosing Spain as the first European market for FAP is the company’s relationships with Ediciones Pleyades - Conceptis’ partner, and the leading puzzle magazine publisher in Spain. G-mode was established in July 2000 as the world's first mobile network game contents provider specializing in Java game software. Its establishment was a direct response to consumer demand for diverse new types of mobile contents that can convert moments of monotony into hours of fun. Telefonica is the leading operator in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets and is one of the world’s leading telecommunications companies. Related resources |
