Positive responses to PAP, LAP and FAP from Games puzzle fans in USA

Thursday, April 1, 2004 Games magazine

Following the publication of Games March issue, consisting of all 3 types of Conceptis logic puzzles, Games Magazine has been receiving very positive responses from puzzle fans in the USA.

As previously published by Conceptis (“GAMES MAGAZINE PUBLISHES 27 CONCEPTIS PUZZLES IN SPECIAL SECTION OF GAMES WORLD OF PUZZLES”, PUZZLETIMES issue 13, February 2, 2004) Games published 27 Conceptis logic puzzles in the March issue of Games World of Puzzles magazine. Games, "the magazine for creative minds at play", is a leading consumer game and puzzle magazine in the United States.

Available on newsstands since December 2003, the March issue was the first to contain all 3 types of Conceptis logic puzzles: PAP (Pic-a-Pix), locally branded as Paint by Numbers (PBN), LAP (Link-a-Pix), locally branded as Paint by Pairs, and FAP (Fill-a-Pix). Here are some of the letters received from devoted puzzles, which will also be published in the From Our Mailbag section of next issue of the magazine:

“ Had to write! I am so delighted. I’m lyrical, ecstatic, bouncing! Your March issue had pages and pages of Paint by Numbers, approached three (count ‘em) three different ways, all of which were fun and challenging. I’m trying to limit myself to one a day, but it’s hard. My fingers just itch to grab a pencil and have at. And then the March GAMES came out with a fourth way to do Paint by Numbers. Well! What a treat! Thank you. Thank you for giving us “Paint addicts” such a boon! I’ve subscribed to “World” for years. I think these brain workouts really help keep us seniors mentally alert. Love Rows Garden, Marching Bands, Themed Word Finds, North/South Winds--almost everything. (I have never figured out cryptics.) One request: Can you give us a starting box down on one or all sides of the Paint by Number puzzles? I hate to get stuck and have to check the answer--and then see the pic and spoil the surprise. Thanks for the best issue ever! “ (Julie Marshall, Salem, Oregon)

“I received my March issue of World of Puzzles and I was pleasantly surprised. I have always enjoyed your Paint by Numbers puzzles and now you have added Paint by Pairs and Fill-a-Pix. I especially enjoyed the Fill-a-Pix. They are challenging and fun to do. The Paint by Pairs are easier to solve than the other two, but I still enjoyed them too. I hope you will have more of these in your future issues”. (Victor Brown, Sheridan, Illinois)

“Dear Editor: I love GAMES World of Puzzles and have a few favorite types of puzzles, including Paint by Numbers. But when I again saw Paint by Pairs and the letter to the editor the March 2004 issue, I was thrilled! Please continue to publish all the picture logic puzzles—Paint by Numbers (including multi-color), Paint by Pairs, and Fill-A-Pix. Lots of us love these!” (Trisha Brasher, Prescott Valley, Arizona)
