Panini Verlags GMBH launches Conceptis logic puzzles in German serial drama magazine

Monday, December 1, 2003 Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten RätselSpass

Panini Verlags GmbH, the leading German publisher for children, youth and teen magazines, is publishing Conceptis logic puzzles in Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten RätselSpass (Good Times - Bad Times) puzzle magazine starting November 5.

Good Times - Bad Times Puzzles is the official crossword, quizzes and fun magazine of the most popular German serial drama by the same name. According to FremantleMedia, the company who produces the series for RTL channel, this successful TV series broadcasted on a daily basis in Germany has over seven million viewers - nearly 40% of German adults aged 14 to 49. The official Good Times - Bad Times puzzle magazine has a distribution of 192,000 copies each month. In addition to crosswords and puzzles, the magazine also contains big prizes, activity sections such as posters and envelopes with motifs from the TV serial drama, interviews with actors starring in it and more.

The first Good Times - Bad Times picture-forming logic puzzles are LAP, or Bildversteck (Picture Hideaway) as branded by Panini, and are targeted at girls of ages 13 to 17. To provide a suitable puzzle experience to this audience, the included LAP logic puzzles have been made easier by using shorter paths, and contain familiar themes from the Good Times, Bad Times TV serial drama. The first puzzle was with a picture of a cat – Yvonne’s (the hero of the series) favorite pet. Thus, this new publication takes Conceptis' picture-forming logic puzzles another step towards the worldwide awareness of these wonderful puzzles.

“Are you a real riddle-freak and love puzzling in your life? Then our new picture-hideaway is the best for you!” is how Panini Verlags introduces the new logic puzzle concept to their readers. The puzzle is accompanied with a feedback questionnaire, to find out how much the teenagers enjoyed solving it, how difficult it was, do they want more logic puzzles and so on. Based on this survey, Panini will decide how many LAP logic puzzles will be published in their future magazines.
