Deaf Puzzle Guy: Explaining Nonograms in American Sign LanguageWednesday, July 6, 2022I am Deaf and I grew up doing word search puzzles, math puzzles and logic puzzles. In 2006, I fell in love with Pic-a-Pix puzzles, also known as Nonograms and Picross, and it soon became my favorite puzzle type. Earlier this year, after noticing YouTube is missing a niche of videos on how to solve Pic-a-Pix and other logic puzzles in American Sign Language (ASL), I created the Deaf Puzzle Guy - a YouTube channel dedicated to filling that niche. Now Deaf, hard-of-hearing and even hearing people can more easily learn how to solve and enjoy this type of intellectual entertainment. Pic-a-Pix in American Sign LanguageThe following is my first American Sign Language puzzle video titled "Solving Your First Pic-a-Pix Puzzle". I chose an easy B&W 5x10 Pic-a-Pix made by Conceptis, converted it to a Powerpoint presentation and used to show how to solve the puzzle step-by-step. The video starts with the basic must-know rules explained with a simple 10x10 puzzle and also features subtitles to make it accessible.
