King Features launches Conceptis Sudoku Interactive

Thursday, October 4, 2007 Conceptis Sudoku Interactive

King Features Syndicate, part of the Hearst Entertainment & Syndication Group, has added Conceptis Sudoku Interactive to its online syndication portfolio. Newspapers in the United States and across the world can now offer the same daily Sudoku puzzle in both printed and interactive formats.

Offering same daily puzzle in print and online expands reader options to play in different ways and provides more fun, thus increasing reader loyalty and time spent within the realm of the newspaper. “Newspapers now have new ways to cross-promote their print and online media,” said Dave Green, president of Conceptis.

The daily puzzles are provided in progressive difficulty levels with Monday’s puzzle being the easiest and the weekend’s puzzle, the most difficult. In addition, puzzle fans will be able to access, print or play online any of the puzzles offered during the last 30 days, as well as learn how to use Sudoku-solving techniques by using the Flash movie tutorial that is provided as part of the service.

One of King Features’ best-selling puzzles

Conceptis Sudoku puzzles were first offered by King Features Syndicate two years ago. With presence in hundreds of daily newspapers and ranking as one of King Features’ best-selling puzzles, Conceptis Sudoku puzzles have proven top-quality puzzles in the market today. Among the newspapers offering daily Conceptis Sudoku are San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle and Orange County Register.

According to Glenn Mott, King Features’ Managing Editor, launching Conceptis Sudoku Interactive is the first step toward future interactive offerings.
