I'm sure that I speak for many people here when I say that I hope that our puzzling friends in Japan, and other areas affected by the massive earthquake and the resulting tsunami, are OK.  The videos that have been shown here in the U.S. are truly awesome and awful, in the old senses of the words: awe-inspiring, such as to cause one to disbelieve one's own eyes.

FWIW, the West Coast of the U.S. has had a fair amount of damage from the tsunami.  At least one confirmed death, and millions of dollars in damage to marinas and other facilities.

Be safe, everyone.

My thoughts are with those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. The images shown on the television give us only a small sense of what it was like, and I can only imagine how frightening it was to have actually experienced such an event.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. Here in Japan we have been seeing the outpouring of support. Please continue to pray for Japan. The one year anniversary is rapidly approaching and many are still without homes.
