Something odd it's happening today.
Since puzelsport has changed its puzzles I used the PICPUz program to download and I got 8 NEW PAP puzzles and in the puzelsport web they are only four.
The other four are not the free weekly of last 26th January.
i don't understand computers but to get more puzzles are always very good.
Enjoy them
Rosa

Hi OOPS!
I'll quote a question I asked in another topic- about solving megaPAPs with PICPUZ:

"Thanks Tina.But...how do you manage to solve large PAPs in the computer-when you can't see the numbers and the picture at the same time? Back and forth, back and forth...it's so difficult! If there were a way to see the "margins" (top lines and left columns that contain the clues) all the time and at the same time move around the picture- as you can do in EXCEL for example -then it would be easier. Can you? "

Do you think something like that could be done in picpuz ? Your program is so great, I think this could make it fantastic!
Thanks,Shiron

Rosa,

the extra puzzles you found were this week's updated puzzles.
They were updated on the puzzles page today at least 2 hours too early but PicPuz found them already yesterday

I need to update my picpuz program and am running XP. I can't seem to get the setup2 file as the link isn't working.

Does build 125 only play up on some XP operating systems or all?

Thanks
Tracey

Hello Scott

In PicPuz you go to extras and click on webloader; then you get the new puzzles. The only puzzles you can get are PAP, FAP and LAP.

Since Vista is coming near to our computers, is there any possibility to use PICPUZ with Vista?
I have asked my husband not to instal Vista if there is no possible.
PICPUZ is first.

There are only two problems with Vista:

1. Some places where PicPuz wants to save configuration and puzzle data will be blocked by Vista's UAC ("user access control"?). Other functionality of PicPuz is not affected as far as I know.

2. I don't have Vista, nor do I know anyone who has it. My boss will soon buy a machine with Vista for testing purposes, so I could have the opportunity to also test my PicPuz on that machine and make it Vista-compatible.

How long this will last or if I will succeed at all – no one knows. I will let you know at the appropriate time ;-)

Thanks Rosa. I did not even notice
I have now replaced it with the right puzzle which I had beforehand.
I have to send e-mail to Natalia, but I'll leave it for tomorrow.
The set 02006-- has had problems before. The website gives different puzzles than Conceptis ;)

I just installed PicPuz Release 125 -- and now, when I launch it, it tries to run the installer for Easy CD Creator 5 Basic -- and prompts me to put in the installation CD. Repeatedly.

I have to click the "Cancel" button on the installation and prompt 5 times, and then PicPuz opens. The previous version that I had (something like Release 61 or 62) didn't have this effect.

I have Windows XP Home. Do you have any ideas what's going on?

Build 125 also brings up that installation for Easy CD Creator 5 when I try to use the web download. This is truly weird and a total pain.

So -- I uninstalled it and reinstalled build 61. That version doesn't have the problem.

amcraig, some files have used the same file extensions. For instance, I have a Game Boy player type of program, and save state files use, I think, ".scn" where n is a number from 1-9, or 0 for ten.

Using Save State 3 conflicts with Simcity 3, and that save state appears as a SimCity 3 file in Windows.

I think the file extension is to blame, therefore. But I could be mistaken.

As I said on the previous page, the problem comes up just in launching PicPuz -- so I wouldn't think a file extension would be the problem then. When I launch the program, I have to cancel out of the installer for Easy CD Creator 5 times before it will complete the launch.

When I look in Add-Remove Programs, it shows Easy CD Creator 5 is installed. So it's a real puzzlement why starting the EXE for Build 125 should cause the launch of its installer. As well as the download for Build 125. There, too, if I kept cancelling out of the installer -- the download finally worked.

... And, I should have repeated -- when I uninstalled Build 125 and reinstalled Build 61 -- I don't have the problem.

I just discovered a function in PicPuz by accident. It may be documented but I don't have the time to research it, so I'll mention the feature here for the benefit of everyone who works FAPs.

In the square nine cell grid, if you have filled the full number of cells indicated by the number in the center, a right click on the number in the center of the grid will fill in the remaining empty cells with an 'x'. For example if the number is 3 and 3 cells are filled with black, right clicking on the number 3 will fill the rest of the grid with 'x's. Right click on the zero of an empty grid and all cells are filled with 'x's.

The same is true in the reverse. Right click on the 9 of an empty grid and all 9 cells are filled with black. Or, if the grid contains a number 3 and all but 3 cells are filled with 'x's, a right click fills the remaining 3 cells with black.
