Thanks Oops - I've downloaded the program but I get an error message and I've searched the internet for the error message but can't seem to fix - it says that it's looking for this file smartsound quicktracks plugin.msi but can't find it on my computer ..... and in fact I don't have this file on my computer at all....... so what can I do? Plus is this a program that will allow me to check that the moves I put in are correct or not? Thanks! :-)

???????????????????? Sorry, but are you sure we are talking about the same program? I don't have such a file either and there is no link to such file in the setup package. On my computer (and many others) the setup works fine. Did you uninstall the older version of PicPuz first?

i've got it up working now - I just uninstalled the smartsound program .... hope I didn't stop anything else from working!! I'm disappointed that the program won't work with pdf documents :-( Is there anything that I can do to convert pdf to the correct format to be able to use with this program? eg. "fp" files thanks everyone

quote: wow... thanks for letting me know Leena - you do the conversions of the weekly ones!!
No, she doesn't. She uses the "Web Loader" functionality built in in PicPuz you are also able to use. So you have the possibility to load the future free weeklies on your own. Only the ones already published are not available via this function, so you can use the various archives that are available via eSnips. (Update: Of course, the weekly Preview Puzzle - for which you can win a T-Shirt - is continously converted to a PicPuz file format, because Conceptis doesn't provide that puzzle in a PicPuz readable format but only PDF.) quote: I wouldn't mind having the readme-file on how to do it .... i'm interested in this type of thing. is it available anywhere online for me to read?
Look into your Startmenu (Programs->PicPuz), there is a link to the shipped Readme file. All others have nothing else. Generally: It would be easier if you have a more detailled look on what you have just installed. Concerning your problem with that sound program: Yes, now I seem to understand what was happening. One of the two Setups (mine or that of your sound tool) is not working correctly. This Sound thing uses the Windows Installer Service (PicPuz did also until version 0.99.59), that furtheron uses a file protection. Installed files that are deleted or changed will be repaired automatically - if the associated MSI file is available. The current PicPuz setup seem to update one of the system files your sound program is also using. But there are version collisions. I suppose that the sound program installs its components regardless if a newer version was already installed, because MY setup does such intelligent version checking (or should do). So when you install PicPuz the Windows Installer Service notices a changed file of your sound tool and tries to repair it. But it only can if the MSI file is available, which obviously is not. I suppose PicPuz would run also, regardless whether your described "error message" occurs or not. Could you please tell me where you did this program get from so that I can download it myself and check the contents of the setup package? I want to check which of the two setups is working incorrectly to make sure mine doesn't.

A couple remarks: I do not convert the T-shirt puzzles, Tina (lrn2spl) does. Nowadays I use the web loader and upload the weeklies to eSnips because many members had trouble with it. From 20th of February to 17th of July the web loader was not working at all and the files between those dates I have got by e-mail from Natalia from Conceptis. I have converted part of the old review puzzles with the help of other members and specially my son who made me a program which can convert part of the puzzles from pdf to PicPuz - input files. Since the program is very much under development and handles only part of the puzzles, I have not published it yet. Leena
