If You get the Conceptis weekly puzzles, why care about the extra ones. They have been the same for more than a month. Maybe they are finally changing them

Hello,

thank you for your hints. I didn't realize it, yet. Don't bother, the Conceptis' puzzles are being loaded correctly. I will see what the problem with the other sites is and change the program appropriately. Check this thread some other day to see if I have supplied an updated version.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Updated information:
The three puzzle types the program could not load are PAPs, FAPs and LAPs all from the same web site http://www.puzzelsport.nl/.
This site seems to have changed its page and file structure. I only needed to change a little in my source code. An updated version of PicPuz (and/or perhaps a simple patch) will soon be online.

Check Your text file. You maybe missing a row or column. Also if You have written "." instead of ",", the program seems to work, but actually it has not done anything.
I have been ther many times, and always it has been an error in my text file.

Sounds like I need to find some time to put some more error-checking into the program.

If you can't find the problem with your text file yourself, feel free to email a copy to me and I will step through the program to see where it is going wrong - that will quickly tell me (a) what error message I should incorporate, and (b) how to fix your text file.

Regards,
Ian

YowieFreak, I have done programming myself (in University), and got frustrated, because I got irritated with the error-handling.
But now I actually have missed it, it would be absolutely great if You would add them.
I have had two types of errors as I told in the previous message.
Missing line or column, which results also from missing enters.
Any wrong entry (not a number, "," or enter) causes the program getting confused.

Hi everyone. I am addicted to LAP and FAP (I prefer the PAP format over at PBN). I finally ventured over to the forums, and I see there are more! This is good since 4 each just isn't enough to fill out the week :)

That said, can someone please send me some LAP and FAP puzzles? And are there any other sites that have these online?

Also, is the web loader working for PicPuz? I am assuming there isn't any new stuff, but I want to make sure.

Thank you very much!

evening and patsy1, You both have mail.

evening, the webloader works fine, new puzzles appear every Sunday at 12 pm. GMT, when in America You still have time, here in Europe the night is falling...
When new puzzles have arrived, the web loader box tells they are available with red letters at the bottom.

I tried the web loader on another computer and it worked fine. So I'll look again at the first computer to see what the issue was.

PBN is a site that has a LARGE number of PAP puzzles, which are called Paint By Numbers. It is run by a guy in Japan, though it is in English as well. Also, users submit the puzzles, which are at all levels of difficulty. They are only black and white.

The link is http://pbn.homelinux.com/pbn/cgi-bin/pbn.cgi/index.html.

Thanks everyone - you guys rule!

This gives me a lot of puzzles to look at this week.

Too bad I start my new job this week and won't have time to solve any. *LOL*

Hi Everyone, I've just downloaded Oops's software (which looks marvelous). I love all the puzzles (FAPs, LAPs & PAPs, color or black-white) so I'd love it if folks would send me their archives of puzzles that I can use with the PicPuz.... The larger the archive, the better! (A .zip attachment would be best).

Thanks! anitacraig@comcast.net
