We've already started Android app development but this is going to take some time. In a few months we'll know better which apps will be released first and when. Thanks, Dave

Allow me to add my voice to the choir. I would love having conceptis apps for android. When I first saw the announcement for the iOS app I was so excited and thought android apps couldn't be far ahead. It has been several years now, but it's good to read there is finally a chance we android users can get our puzzle fixes on the go. I usually go for free apps, but depending on the format you will apply to the app this would be one I'd be willing to pay for... That is, as soon as google actually makes it possible for me to pay... Apparently, to google, people without actual money (credit card) are preferable over people with actual money (paypal, debit card, IDeal).

Hi, ConPuz for Android gets a vote from me, too. And... It would be handy if all the puzzles (the ones online, too!) would be available in one app.

you can set up paypal to default to credit card payment!!! And as an alternate form of payment. And it's free! I've used paypal both ways, for many years.

I just wanted to add a vote for the Android market ... it is a huge opportunity to make an opening to thousands of new users. I suppose you are aware of the increasingly high penetration of android in smartphones and tablets, so the sooner you have something for us the better. Thank you for the amazing puzzles!

Hi All It turns out developing puzzles with large grids (like Pic-a-Pix, Fill-a-Pix and Link-a-Pix) is no simple task on Android. Apple provides many more development and debugging tools while in the Android environment we have to develop them ourselves. This has taken a lot of time, but yesterday we could finally play the first puzzle on Android: it was a Fill-a-Pix. LOL. Anyway, we still have a long way to go adding the puzzle libraries platform, enabling purchase in Google Play and much more, but we are optimistic our puzzles will be available for Android somewhere in 2014. Thank you all for your patience, and sorry this is taking us much longer than expected. Dave

Maybe this is an idea: there is an app called "Logic Sketch 2" which has very good Pic-a-Pix puzzles. It has pinch-to-zoom option which works fine and it has huge puzzles which are big grids splitted in several small grids. It is great fun to see a picture develop finishing one grid after the other :-) I love to play the splitted ones more than those that are finished with one grid, keeps you playing and you can't stop ;-)

I'll just note that there is a lot of market competition for PAP-style puzzles. Not as much so for other types, and while there are connect the dot and maze type apps, they don't have puzzles that produce images from a maze path or hundreds of dots (being geared instead to kids). I have seen an app called CrossMe that contains some 600 puzzles. It has a useful Zoom function that lets you magnify quite close so that screen size is not an issue. The only potential problem is when yoiu zoom into the middle of a large grid; you have to know where you are. They provide clues on all four edges as well, which is kind of odd (and reduces the puzzle size at first), but zoomed in can be handy. You only get a very small set for free, however; the rest require a roughly $5 charge, but it's good for all future releases of puzzles as well. Just do not model after the Griddlers Plus app. I went to a 20x20 puzzle and have still not been able to zoom on it. I may try to copy some puzzles to external software (the clues, that is) and then uninstall the app. so it doesn't take up space on my phone. I think the program in fact comes from the same folks at griddlers.net because they use the MultiGriddlers format quite a bit.

I've actually seen puzzle variations that Conceptis ought to use to keep things fresh and interesting. Ever heard of Sheep and Wolves? (Hint: it's in the number puzzle category.) I've also seen PAPs with 5x5 segments missing in Logic Paradise; these are home to new sets of clues (those segments remain empty in the picture). Example: you see a 5,4 clue pair, then a gap, then a 6; each number applies to the size of the line it appears for.

We're still working on this. Turns out developing apps like ours (with huge grids which can be zoomed) is much more difficult with Android than with iOS. Still, we already have the basics working and need a few more months to develop in-app purchasing, puzzle libraries, Help section, the Weekly Bonus and so on. We are also looking into supporting both Kindle and Nook, which will add more the the development. Thanks, Dave
