KenDoku renamed to CalcuDokuMonday, December 22, 2008
Following request by Nextoy LLC, co-owner of KENKEN™ trademark worldwide and owner of Ken-Doku™ trademark in the USA since September, Conceptis announces the renaming of recently launched KenDoku to CalcuDoku. Conceptis CalcuDoku is a number-logic puzzle that uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in creative and uncommon ways, aiming to change the way people relate to basic mathematics.
"Our company has always been about the essence of puzzles and never about their names" says Dave Green, president of Conceptis. "Seeking for harmony and trying to stay away from disputes, we decided to change the name of the puzzle. Now that the trademark confusion is out of the way we hope more people will enjoy CalcuDoku and feel even better about mathematics!"
CalcuDoku, also known as KenDoku™, Square Wisdon, CanCan and MinuPlu, are based on the same rules of KENKEN™, a successful educational puzzle invented by Tetsuya Miyamoto in Japan as an instruction-free brain-training method. A free printable Conceptis CalcuDoku for your enjoyment is available from the widget on this news.
