I decided to do something as a nice little service to the community, given there are now 10 years of weekly puzzles and, in my opinion, still a bit of an antiquated search system to sort through them. While happily churning along, I noticed most puzzles since 2014 appeared form the same general groups, and as my memory serves from 2011-2012, branched out before that. from all over the place. However in particular, when I got into the 2012-2013 area, I started noticing big batches of puzzles go missing and decided to explore through visiting direct URLs.

The discovery I made is that, for Black and White PAPs, the following 19 puzzles have not been released at all in 11 years, but have been skipped in sequence:

- 00090100667 (oops, this should be 00090100677, likely a 40x35)
- 00090100671 (35x30 or 40x35)
- 00090100672 (35x30 or 40x35)
- 00090100679 (likely a 40x35)
- 00090100680 (likely a 40x35)
- 00090100684 (35x30 or 40x35)
- 00090100692 (15x15 or 20x20)
- 00090100706 (previous is 25x25)
- 00090100707
- 00090100708
- 00090100709 (next in number is 65x40)
- 00090100711 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100716 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100719 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100720 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100721 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100722 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100724 (likely a 65x40)
- 00090100725 (likely a 65x40)

There may be others before this, and probably colour puzzles too, but I find it interesting that these never went out as other nearby puzzles, such as 00090100732 released in September 2017, and 00090100738 in October 2017, did finally get published. This leads me to believe these puzzles exist, and have been forgotten or are being saved for a point where there is a lack of other puzzles of that type. Can I have some kind of comment on this set of puzzles and whether they will ever be released? My way of printing puzzles is to do a batch at a time in sequential order, especially the larger puzzles, and I hate skipping over puzzles I may forget to go back to later if they are released much later.

As for my project, I'll keep working on it for picture puzzles and release my document, which is a Google Sheets format, in the future. It will show at a quick glance every week that every puzzle (since the 2008 format of puzzles, anyway) was released, possibly including those that were before the first date listed on the site (May 2, 2008).

Hej Cyclone,
I've just checked the first one and is the piggy bank. I will have a look later for the other as it is too late for me cause I'm going to bed now. It's nearly 2:00h in the morning. So have a good night and a great weekend.

Thought I checked that list carefully. Had a wrong digit in the first one.

More findings:

Mega puzzles (0039) have no missing puzzles, everything has been released so far (save 00390100231 which could be out this coming week, in another two weeks, or in a month most likely as 00390100232 came out last month).

2-Colour puzzles (something we REALLY should bring back with up to 6 colour puzzles, and occasionally 7, among 8 weeklies) have a few missing entries:

- 00090100014 (40x40 or 50x40, sizes not used today)
- 00090100019 (60x40 or 20x20)
- 00090100037 (40x40 or 45x40)
- 00090100053 (definitely a 45x40 I believe)

Meanwhile, multi-colour puzzles have so far three cases of missing puzzles, with possibly others:

- 00290100339 (15x15 or 20x20)
- 00290100529 (40x35)
- 00290100560 (20x20 or 35x30, I think)

I'd love to see two-colour puzzles return and the four in that set included (plus new ones from 140, which might not exist yet), and for these three missing colour ones (and others I'll eventually note in the sheet, which I can share with someone in the company) to be released at some point. =)

They're among my favourites. I have been to Griddlers and other sites as well, and I tend to gravitate towards both black and white and 2-colour options, and less to the 4-8 colour ones because it's a lot more work trying to remember where you can put an X and not because of the differing rule.

So I have made it back to the puzzles released prior to September of 2009 and am checking each set against my list, but there is something of note that should be pointed out. The puzzles listed for May 9, 2008 are completely and wholly incorrect and falsely represented.

Hear me out here. The following puzzles were acquired FOR FREE (since they were all free at the time) on May 9-15, 2008 for the PAP section:

- 0301305 (this is the old seven-digit format, no longer available, but is a Colour PAP)
- 0009010062 (B&W PAP)
- 0009010077 (B&W PAP)
- 0029010047 (Colour PAP)

Try looking up those three puzzles that should be found on the current site. They are not. They cannot be purchased. Those of us around back then simply have them and no one else is able to enjoy them. Meanwhile, the following puzzles were fraudulently listed for that week:

- 0009010011
- 0009010027
- 0029010007
- 0029010023

It should be noted that these puzzles from 2008 are NOT in my collection. This is possibly the only week that my puzzles do not match (except, I think, some Battleships puzzles that did not match in number somewhere in the first year archived). And I believe this same fraudulent listing happens across other types that week, as well; puzzles starting on May 16 match the site, and there is no archive for May 2 and back, which does include some puzzles numbered in the new format). So May 9, 2008 was added incorrectly trying to get the site out. The other possibility is, when the new site was published, these WERE an unusual second set of free puzzles and I was never aware of them.

It would be nice to see the May 9, 2008 set, as is fraudulently listed, given for free as an apology or later included in future weeks from now after being corrected (I can provide the correct puzzles in PDF format, too), but I have already presumed this will probably not happen. It would be nice to be able to get my hands on them if they were actually available initially for free, from a fellow longtime member (honestly, since I have PDFs of everything through the first part of September 2009 from then, I'd like to have access to those on the site as well for printing in other formats, but that's another story). I mean, to get all of the other puzzles since then will easily cost me roughly $120 a year, and I am six years behind.

But all this aside, all of these puzzles that were available before May 9, 2008 would be nice to at least provide to users in some way; with eight PAP puzzles every week now, just start sticking these older puzzles in, one per week, until the entire database from there has been cleared. They may be ten years old, but there are always new visitors, so these will be new to them and, since we're buying the full week archive anyway, having some older gems would be a nice treat. And very soon I'll have a full list available - for PAPs, anyway - of exactly what could be released to make everything available; I've already marked most of the missing puzzles since September 2009, and am working out the ones before that now. Heck, even take the seven digit puzzles and throw them up as a ninth puzzle (as a freebie for everyone to keep). I know I'm missing about ten of those over the many 20-puzzle sets over the first few years I was here, and it's really a shame to see this forum having somewhat died off since the paid site became active.

It would be nice to bring the puzzles from the old website forward to the new website, but I suspect they would have to go through some sort of conversion first to be usable. One thing I miss is the Weekly Review puzzle. They were fun, sometimes a challenge and they motivated me to try to learn the new puzzles as they were introduced.
