Something I have never really understood..... Why the need to ask for an invitation? As everybody who has asked for an invitation has been given one, why not simply post and make public the URL and let those who want it access it on a free to view basis, so avoiding reams and reams of forum space, with every contributor saying the same thing?

Perhaps Cyclone (or Leena) could please explain the rationale for requiring invitations.

maybe the reason is that with a invitation it's easy to see if you have downloaded that file before?

Let's take the best side of the invitations first:
I personally like beeing invited, even to a public folder, because that way I can get information about new updates.

And then to the "down side" of the folders. At the moment I have had over 13 000 visitors in my public folders. Because I have not hidden my identity that has caused something I never did expect to happen. Use Google on my surname and you probably understand what I mean
The name is not very common even in Finland. Believe it or not: I am not very keen on publicity. Additionally that is my married name so I passed all the 'orginals'.

The other and more important issue is that we are actually sharing copyrighted material. I've told Dave about my folders and he has said that I can keep them public for the moment. But I will close them too, if Dave asks me to do it.

Regarding this particular folder, Cyclone may express his own opinion himself but I like the idea that our efforts go to the benefit of Conceptis-members only

Leena

PS. I have been busy grading my students papers and I am on my way to return them. I'll send the missing invitations when I get home.

Yes, my particular folder is meant only for Conceptis members. Many of the puzzles I put in the Magazine Nonograms are magazines or such where the puzzles are Conceptis puzzles. They're old magazines that are no longer available (with exception to things like the older Japanese magazines that find their way to America, too), so I hope that Dave will have no issue with my keeping it, again for forum members only, as they cannot be purchased in magazine form any longer.

thanks,Leena.
I still cannot access the files.
First I got the massege "Windows cannot open the file; needs to know which program created it."
After putting "nonogram" as a response, I got the following: "Adobe could not open...because it is not a supported file type".
Please advise - have I done something wrong?
- what should I do now?

I am very anxious to access the Nongram" puzzles .

Aadmon, you can open the files only with Picpuz. When you have installed and opened the program, choose Open.. and browse to the location where you have saved the .non -files (or other PP-files).

Can these Cyclone nonograms be completed on-line or on a PC, or do they have to be printed off? I prefer to do them on a PC and, if this is the case, how do I get an invite?!

Many thanks

They can be done on the computer, by installing the program, PiPuz, referenced in the quote at the top of this page.
